Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +40 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team dedicated to building and expanding SELECT, DoiT's cloud cost management platform.

• Play an integral role in defining the product roadmap, technical strategy, and the growth of the engineering team.

• Collaborate with engineers to create scalable, reliable, and maintainable products across our application, data platform, and infrastructure.

• Champion engineering excellence through robust development practices, high code quality standards, observability, reliability, and operational maturity.

• Oversee performance management, goal setting, growth planning, and conduct regular one-on-one meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, including building and managing production systems.

• At least 2 years of experience in engineering leadership or management, directing software engineering teams.

• A solid technical foundation in backend engineering, data modeling, and data-intensive systems.

• Familiarity with technologies such as Python, FastAPI, Postgres, dbt, Dagster, Snowflake, or other contemporary data platforms.

• Proven ability to lead architectural discussions and steer technical direction without being the main individual contributor.

• Experience collaborating with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve customer-focused results.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging engineers, executives, and business stakeholders effectively.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment.
