This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Play a pivotal role in transitioning our legacy frontend to React by defining patterns, establishing standards, and incrementally building without disrupting the live environment.

• Design and enhance a scalable frontend architecture, including component systems, state management, performance strategies, and testing methodologies, that evolves alongside the product.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to create seamless omnichannel UI experiences across voice, chat, email, and various digital platforms.

• Establish and uphold frontend engineering standards related to code quality, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers on React best practices and frontend architectural decisions.

• Contribute to backend development as needed, utilizing Node.js and Nest.js, whether it involves building APIs, resolving issues, or assisting the team in overcoming obstacles.

• Actively engage in technical discussions, challenge project scope, and suggest improved methodologies when appropriate.

• Facilitate the team's efficiency by minimizing friction through enhanced tooling, clearer abstractions, and well-defined patterns.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5-6 years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on React, TypeScript, and Node.js.

• In-depth knowledge of component architecture, state management, and contemporary frontend patterns.

• Proven experience with large-scale frontend migrations, successfully navigating legacy codebases.

• A well-defined and opinionated view of effective frontend engineering, along with the ability to advocate for it without being inflexible.

• Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility, and testing practices (unit, integration, e2e).

• Practical knowledge of Node.js and Nest.js, sufficient to make meaningful contributions to backend tasks when required by the team.

• Comfortable operating within an iterative, incremental delivery framework, adept at delivering value while managing technical debt.

• A proactive approach to identifying issues before they are raised and proposing solutions ahead of requests.

• Strong sensitivity to product and design, with a commitment to creating pixel-perfect UIs that accurately reflect design intentions and deliver refined user experiences.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of aligning engineers, PMs, and designers on technical decisions without causing confusion.

• Experience working with remote, distributed teams, with fluent English proficiency required.
