Software Engineer – Query Language

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the New Relic query language and gateway stack.

• Engage in cross-functional committees and collaborate with teams in AI, Visualizations, and Data Processing.

• Develop and maintain scalable distributed Java services and manage petabyte-scale infrastructure.

• Analyze and address critical performance, availability, and resiliency challenges in a multi-region, multi-cloud, multi-tenant distributed database.

• Operate within an agile DevOps environment and uphold the team’s software.

• Participate in the on-call rotation and react to system failures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of experience in collaborative software development.

• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and contemporary software design and development methodologies.

• A solid sense of ownership regarding code and commitments.

• Proficiency in working with the command line and diagnosing system failures.

• Experience with Java or equivalent experience in another object-oriented language such as C++, C#, etc.

• Capability to verify identity and eligibility to work.

• A criminal background check is mandatory.
