Software Engineer – Quality & Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for quality and automation in significant enterprise deployments.

• Maintain consistency across SaaS and PaaS environments to avoid configuration drift turning into defects.

• Develop agentic automation for bug triage, reproduction, and routing processes.

• Utilize agentic tools for bug resolution and deployment of fixes.

• Conduct repeatable bug bashes on new features prior to their release.

• Manage bug reporting and communication, including trends weighted by severity, hotspots, and quality outlook.

• Collaborate with customers to enhance issue reporting, validation of fixes, and readiness for release.

• Enhance automated testing coverage, CI signal, and testing stability.

• Link customer-reported issues to tests or environment checks that could have identified them.

• Generate and curate datasets to aid in agent-quality evaluation.

• Depending on the level of the position, oversee customer quality experience, establish automation standards, lead release-confidence initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence the long-term quality strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in production software engineering — you actively write and deploy code, not just tests.

• Practical experience in developing test automation and CI quality gates that engineers depend on.

• Hands-on application of AI or agentic tools as part of your work process.

• Direct experience collaborating with customers or enterprise users on issues that matter to them.

• Ability to work with ambiguity and take ownership of outcomes without a defined queue.

• Nice-to-have: Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Hasura, GraphQL.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with E2E and integration frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with both multi-tenant SaaS and single-tenant or self-managed enterprise deployments.

• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of infrastructure for environment parity work — AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with observability and tracing tools like Datadog.

• Nice-to-have: Background in building agentic workflows or internal tools using LLMs.

• Nice-to-have: Skills in performance and load testing, particularly for long-running workflows.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with security and compliance environments (SOC 2, FedRAMP, or similar).

• Nice-to-have: Experience in audit, accounting, financial services, or other regulated sectors.
