Software Engineer – Market Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design scalable and mission-critical market data provider services.

• Ensure high software quality and maintain adequate test coverage.

• Engage in code review processes.

• Diagnose incidents and resolve reported bugs.

• Assist in the development and scaling of systems and services that support Alpaca's brokerage infrastructure.

• Enhance the architecture related to stocks, options, cryptocurrencies, and foreign exchange data products.

• Manage the public API structure and documentation for both streaming and historical endpoints.

• Strategize, conceptualize, test, and implement new services and libraries to tackle scaling challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• BSc/MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience in backend software development.

• Practical experience with Docker or Kubernetes.

• A DevOps-oriented mindset.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience in building and architecting large-scale systems.

• Profound understanding of POSIX-like operating systems, modern infrastructure, and orchestration methods.

• Nice-to-have: experience with large datasets.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with Kubernetes; CKA or CKAD certification is advantageous.

• Nice-to-have: experience with SQL.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of IP networking.

• Nice-to-have: comprehension of financial markets.

• Nice-to-have: experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Nice-to-have: skills in shell scripting, Linux, Docker, microservice architectures, and clean code principles.
