Software Engineer, Level III – Full-Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Lead the comprehensive system design for intricate, high-scale backend platforms.

• Establish architectural guidelines and engineering best practices.

• Make impactful trade-off decisions regarding scalability, performance, cost, and maintainability.

• Create efficient and adaptable data models.

• Design, develop, and sustain full-stack features across React/Angular frontends and Node.js microservices.

• Build and enhance RESTful and event-driven APIs for both internal and external use.

• Design MongoDB schemas, craft efficient queries, and manage data at scale.

• Develop and oversee AWS SNS/SQS event-driven workflows.

• Instrument services with metrics, alerts, dashboards, and distributed tracing.

• Investigate and resolve intricate bugs and production incidents from start to finish.

• Collaborate with product, design, and growth teams on acquisition, activation, and conversion initiatives.

• Contribute to experimentation and A/B testing initiatives.

• Align technical decisions with business strategies and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.

• Research and propose solutions to ambiguous engineering challenges.

• Plan and independently drive complex features from design to production.

• Engage in code reviews and architectural discussions.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across the technology stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development.

• Proven track record of leading system design for complex, high-scale platforms.

• Ability to define architectural principles and promote engineering best practices.

• Experience in making significant decisions involving trade-offs related to scalability, cost, performance, maintainability, speed, and reliability.

• Strong skills in data modeling.

• Proficient in Node.js and production microservices.

• Experience with MongoDB schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, particularly AWS SNS and SQS or similar systems.

• Proficiency in React and/or Angular 2+.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch or Sentry.

• Experience in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• General understanding of AWS services such as S3, IAM, Lambda, or EC2.

• Business-oriented mindset connecting technical efforts to company goals and customer outcomes.

• Excellent research and investigative abilities.

• Strong problem-resolution approach.

• Capacity to independently manage complex features from design through to production.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a remote, asynchronous-friendly environment.
