This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the design, development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of NGA’s TERPS production software capabilities.
• Create and uphold application functionality, services, integrations, and automated tests for processing aeronautical and geospatial data.
• Develop, adjust, test, debug, and sustain software applications, services, and microservices.
• Build application features, APIs, database interfaces, and data integrations.
• Facilitate the ingestion, processing, validation, and exchange of aeronautical and geospatial data.
• Provide support for software integration with relational and spatial databases.
• Engage in Agile sprint planning, development, testing, demonstrations, and backlog activities.
• Create and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Utilize GitLab or similar source-control platforms for software development and configuration management.
• Support automated CI/CD pipelines, software builds, security scans, and deployments.
• Diagnose software defects and implement corrective, perfective, and adaptive maintenance changes.
• Aid in the remediation of security vulnerabilities and software quality issues.
• Produce and update technical documentation, test results, release documentation, and deployment information.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, Software Architects, technical SMEs, and other team members to deliver software functionalities.
• 2–5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications.
• Familiarity with modern programming languages and software development frameworks.
• Experience in working with databases, APIs, and application integrations.
• Knowledge of Git-based source control and contemporary software development practices.
• Experience or familiarity with automated software testing and CI/CD principles.
• Ability to function effectively within an Agile software development team.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical team members.
• Preferred experience with AWS, OpenShift, containers, Kubernetes, or similar cloud technologies.
• Preferred experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or other relational/spatial databases.
• Preferred experience in web-based application or microservices development.
• Preferred experience with GIS, geospatial, aeronautical, aviation, or terrain data.
• Familiarity with DAFIF, DVOF, DTED, SRTM, TanDEM-X, AIXM, or similar datasets.
• Experience supporting Federal Government and/or DoD software programs.
• Familiarity with secure software development, DevSecOps, RMF/A&A, or vulnerability remediation.
• Security+ Certification is preferred.
• No security clearance is required; candidates must be eligible to meet applicable HSPD-12/Tier 1 requirements for CUI access.
