This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, develop, and sustain full-stack software applications and services that facilitate Natera Operations information processing for genetic laboratory tests.
• Collaborate with operational teams to enhance workflows and software efficiencies.
• Develop the next generation of tools for Natera operations.
• Make significant design and technical implementation choices alongside the engineering team.
• Partner with stakeholders and users to outline requirements and convert them into robust, extensible, and user-friendly applications.
• Design, construct, and uphold sustainable applications.
• Enhance development processes and practices while advocating for best practices.
• Regularly manage Protected Health Information (PHI) in both paper and electronic formats.
• Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of employment.
• Stay updated on Natera training requirements.
• Successfully pass a post-offer criminal background check.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Over 5 years of comprehensive software development experience.
• Proficient in web services, particularly REST.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Expertise in full-stack web application programming.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
• Proficient in Java Enterprise Edition.
• Familiarity with the Spring Framework.
• Experience in relational database and SQL programming, ideally with MySQL.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and other backend web service technologies.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Docker or container-based technologies.
• Understanding of CI/CD processes.
• Quality assurance mindset.
• Proven teamwork capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering diversity in engineering.
• Current compliance with Natera training requirements.
• Ability to complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance, and security training within 30 days of employment.

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with Java object-oriented programming, particularly with Spring Framework and Hibernate, is a plus.
• Front-end web programming experience using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulated environments is advantageous.
• Experience in Healthcare IT is beneficial but not mandatory.
