Software Engineer II – Message Mailflow

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement software initiatives that are essential to Abnormal's primary product, covering all phases from conception and design to implementation, launch, and ongoing operations.

• Take ownership of and enhance the stability, performance, and scalability of tier 0 backend services that handle billions of emails each day.

• Work collaboratively with Detection, Products, Infrastructure, and various R&D teams.

• Engage in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of mission-critical systems.

• Spot opportunities to enhance system efficiency, minimize operational overhead, and boost reliability.

• Contribute to engineering excellence, knowledge sharing, and professional development activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a related engineering discipline.

• Over 3 years of industry experience in backend software development and distributed systems.

• Proven experience in designing and creating software applications.

• Proficiency in Go and/or Python.

• Experience in collaborating with distributed teams, with strong skills in asynchronous and written communication.

• Background in building features and components from the ground up and managing their operation.

• Ability to balance the development of features with operational responsibilities.

• Willingness to adhere to established guidelines, coding standards, and conventions.

• A growth-oriented mindset with a desire to enhance impact and take on more responsibilities over time.

• Preferred qualifications: Experience with AWS, Kubernetes (K8), Django, Spark, Prometheus, AWS services and deployment methodologies, as well as Docker or similar containerization technologies.
