This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +2 more states.
• Design and develop backend services and APIs utilizing TypeScript/NestJS and associated technologies.
• Create frontend functionalities in Angular and integrate them with shared design-system components.
• Take ownership of specific features, components, services, or moderately complex project workflows, managing them from technical design to deployment and subsequent improvements.
• Develop functionality driven by workflows to assist users in discovering data, requesting access, and navigating through approval processes.
• Enhance performance and scalability by optimizing application code, database queries, and service interactions.
• Write automated tests, engage in code reviews, and contribute to the creation of reliable and maintainable software.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and engineers to clarify requirements and convert customer needs into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, documentation, CI/CD enhancements, and initiatives aimed at improving developer experience.
• Independently deliver well-defined and moderately complex features and project tasks.
• Engage in technical design discussions and collaborate across various disciplines to create intuitive, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Typically possesses 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent proven experience in delivering production software.
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript, with experience in Angular, React, or another modern frontend framework.
• Experienced in building APIs and services using NestJS, Node.js, or a similar backend framework.
• Familiar with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of contemporary CI/CD practices.
• Experience in writing automated tests and participating in code reviews.
• Strong software design principles and maintainability practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate progress, ask insightful questions, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Demonstrates reliability in follow-through, appropriate escalation of issues, curiosity, and a willingness to enhance technical judgment over time.
