Software Engineer II – Employer of Record

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and create software while enhancing existing codebases.

• Develop unit tests and ensure your software meets acceptance criteria.

• Adhere to team standards for coding, documentation, and testing.

• Perform impact analysis to proactively assess the effects of changes within applications.

• Engage in code reviews and effectively communicate application modifications.

• Document code and projects to facilitate understanding, maintenance, and support by others.

• Troubleshoot production issues and propose effective solutions.

• Read and write design documentation.

• Acquire knowledge of the business process domain to provide better support for the organization.

• Contribute to the team's sprint goals and actively engage in Agile practices.

• Participate in continuous learning initiatives to enhance design and coding quality, as well as to increase knowledge of the application domain.

• Mentor and assist less experienced software engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 2 years of software engineering experience or a comparable level of expertise.

• Significant experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, and Node.js, with a strong focus on backend development.

• Experience with cloud platform environments such as AWS.

• Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages and design patterns.

• Practical knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall methodologies.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Preferred: Advanced knowledge of IDEs and the ability to navigate them efficiently.

• Comprehensive understanding of application programming interfaces (APIs) and frameworks in their specific area: JSON, REST/SOAP based Web Services, JUnit, Jenkins, and Bitbucket preferred.

• Experience with API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications.

• Familiarity with creating REST API documentation using Swagger or similar tools is desirable.

• Ability to use DDL to create database objects and relationships, as well as to construct advanced queries.

• Experience in the financial services industry.
