Software Engineer II, Backend – Orchestration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Deliver backend functionalities from specification through to production.

• Develop and deploy backend services that handle actual payment volumes.

• Engage in architecture and design discussions.

• Monitor production performance, identify issues, and assist in resolving them.

• Produce high-quality, production-ready code with comprehensive error handling.

• Adhere to Primer's engineering standards.

• Collaborate on scoping sessions, code reviews, and technical decisions.

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager for Orchestration.

• Contribute to the orchestration layer for intelligent, seamless, and reliable global payments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in backend engineering with a proven record of delivering functional software.

• Ability to take a clearly defined task and deliver it through to production.

• Solid understanding of backend system behavior.

• Familiarity with REST APIs and patterns that enhance service reliability and comprehensibility.

• Interest in monitoring, rollouts, and the health of production systems.

• Openness to ask questions, receive feedback, and quickly learn.

• Experience in payments, fintech, or infrastructure contexts is advantageous.

• Must reside in one of the following locations: Hungary, Poland, South Africa, Portugal, or Romania.
