Software Engineer II, Backend – Financial Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop features related to Reconciliation and Global Accounts, with guidance from more experienced engineers on project scoping and architecture.

• Enhance and build reports and dashboards that assist merchants in reconciling and clarifying payments across various PSPs.

• Contribute to the infrastructure of Global Accounts and FX for the management and transfer of funds across different currencies and markets.

• Work on the Costs Overview Dashboard to aid merchants in comprehending charges and their underlying causes.

• Deploy features to production environments and assess their impact.

• Manage real financial data with a focus on PCI, GDPR compliance, and accuracy as daily priorities.

• Collaborate with a purpose-driven engineering team to construct infrastructure for global payments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering production-level backend or full-stack features with increasing independence.

• Prior experience coding in Python within a contemporary technical setting.

• Strong understanding of API design principles.

• Focus on performance as usage scales.

• Comfortable writing tests and addressing edge cases and error management.

• A genuine commitment to precision and accuracy.

• Preferred but not mandatory: familiarity with payments, reconciliation, treasury, or FX.

• Preferred but not mandatory: experience with data reconciliation, matching, or ETL-style systems.
