This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and implement tailored software solutions, systems, and integrations.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, and business systems analysts in an agile/scrum environment.
• Develop code and design technical solutions in partnership with IT operations teams.
• Engage in scrum ceremonies.
• Liaise with stakeholders to comprehend workflows and requests.
• Execute assigned tasks while employing critical thinking to identify design challenges and suggest technical or functional improvements.
• Design and create software in line with ticket specifications.
• Take part in code reviews by providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Assist leads and systems analysts in organizing tickets through workflow analysis.
• Oversee processes, log information, and troubleshoot recognized issues.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Python applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Convert functional requirements into technical specifications, highlighting complexities and challenging areas.
• Acquire knowledge and engage with lab processes, protocols, and data structures.
• At least three (3) years of professional experience in Python programming.
• Proficient in Python development interfacing with RDS and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Flask and/or Django frameworks.
• Experience in various development frameworks.
• Frontend web development skills using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Recommended experience with frontend frameworks such as ReactJS.
• Solid understanding of relational databases like MySQL.
• Capability to write and optimize complex multi-table queries.
• Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
• Ability to programmatically read and write structured and unstructured formats including JSON, CSV, and XML.
• Knowledge of producing and consuming web services such as REST, SOAP, and AMQP.
• Basic understanding and practical use of Docker containers.
• Proficient in translating functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Knowledge of or interest in learning about lab processes, protocols, and data structures.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies and/or certifications is advantageous.
