Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy new features and enhancements for Shift5 user interfaces and APIs.

• Analyze requirements and design specifications to create, troubleshoot, test, and maintain software solutions with a high level of independence and speed.

• Craft, build, and support robust functionalities tailored to the operational and compliance needs of commercial aviation and defense clients across various platforms, environments, and cloud solutions.

• Facilitate architectural designs that align with business needs, security protocols, and quality benchmarks.

• Mentor and guide fellow team members and peers.

• Engage actively in Agile development methodologies.

• Stay updated on pertinent software engineering technologies and advancements.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, program managers, and industry specialists to influence significant features.

• Report directly to the Manager of Off-Vehicle Software Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of experience in software development with a thorough understanding of software engineering principles and practices.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and at least one modern frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue).

• Experience with Go, along with proven experience in REST APIs.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Previous experience with SaaS products, demonstrating a history of delivering scalable, observable, maintainable, and reliable applications.

• U.S. Citizenship and an existing (or the ability to acquire) U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.
