Senior Engineer – Entitlement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of engineers.

• Conduct one-on-one meetings, offer coaching and feedback, and assist in professional growth.

• Engage in recruitment, onboarding, team development strategies, and performance evaluations.

• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

• Contribute to significant development initiatives and help resolve engineering obstacles.

• Steer architectural decisions, code reviews, and technical choices.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and stakeholders to define and implement solutions.

• Work alongside Product to shape epics, plan sprints, and prioritize the backlog.

• Oversee sprint planning, delivery timelines, and status updates.

• Ensure the team meets sprint commitments and delivers on time.

• Identify and manage technical dependencies and potential risks.

• Advocate for best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.

• Promote continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and processes.

• Assist in defining and executing the long-term technical strategy.

• Develop and maintain client-facing components within a monolithic and microservices architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• 1 to 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.

• Proficient with AWS Lambda, ECS, SQS, Kinesis, SendGrid, Postfix, and Terraform.

• Experience in designing and delivering scalable, production-ready systems and applications.

• Comfortable contributing to both frontend and backend codebases.

• Strong grasp of modern development practices, architectural patterns, and engineering tools.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

• Proven experience in delivering reliable, high-performance REST APIs.

• Keen interest in database and query performance optimization.

• Familiarity with Scrum/agile development methodologies.

• Experience with code reviews, service ownership, fully automated testing, microservices, and rapid/continuous releases.

• Proficient in Java programming.

• Preferred: Technical experience with email processing and tracking in large systems.

• Preferred: Experience with serverless architectures, queuing, and streaming technologies.

• Preferred: Comfort with on-call support and direct client interactions.

• Preferred: Experience in the finance sector and/or with a SaaS startup.
