This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and develop tailored software, systems, and integrations.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, and business systems analysts within an agile/scrum framework.
• Write code and devise technical solutions alongside IT operations teams.
• Engage in scrum ceremonies.
• Work with stakeholders to comprehend workflows and requests.
• Complete assigned tasks while utilizing critical thinking to identify design challenges and suggest technical or functional improvements.
• Design and develop software in accordance with ticket specifications.
• Participate in code reviews by providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Engage in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily standups.
• Assist leads and systems analysts in curating tickets through workflow analysis.
• Monitor processes, log information, and troubleshoot identified issues.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Python applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Convert functional requirements into technical specifications while identifying complexities and problematic areas.
• Acquire knowledge of and work with lab processes, protocols, and data structures.
• A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Python.
• Proficiency in Python development interfacing with RDS and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Flask and/or Django.
• Experience with various frameworks.
• Frontend web development experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strongly recommended frontend framework experience such as ReactJS.
• Solid understanding of relational databases like MySQL.
• Ability to write and optimize complex multi-table queries.
• Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
• Skill in programmatically reading and writing structured and unstructured formats like JSON, CSV, and XML.
• Experience in producing and consuming web services such as REST, SOAP, and AMQP.
• Basic knowledge and use of Docker containers.
• Competent in translating functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Knowledge of or interest in learning lab processes, protocols, and data structures.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is recommended but not mandatory.
• Experience with and/or certifications in AWS or other cloud technologies is advantageous.
