Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and develop essential backend services and infrastructure that drive the observability platform.

• Maintain dependable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs.

• Work in partnership with open-source contributors and clients to address challenges.

• Integrate feedback from the community and customers into the design of backend architecture and APIs.

• Create and implement scalable backend systems for the ingestion, processing, and querying of petabytes of observability data.

• Develop foundational services that assist engineers in diagnosing production issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a primary emphasis on backend development.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js, including frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or similar.

• Strong grasp of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.

• Familiarity with containerized environments, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in creating developer tools and designing solutions for developers.

• A genuine passion for open source and the developer community.

• Experience with Go is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or other analytical/OLTP databases is a plus.

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, logging pipelines, or metrics infrastructure is a bonus.

• Experience in SDKs or client library design is a bonus.

• Exposure to message queues, streaming systems like Kafka or NATS, or event-driven architectures is a bonus.
