Software Engineer, Framework Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.

📋 Description

• Architect and construct a robust, high-performing, cross-platform framework for sensing, detection, haptics, and machine learning inference.

• Develop efficient runtime execution systems and hardware abstraction layers.

• Create developer APIs that simplify complex sensing and inference tasks.

• Enhance real-time performance across multimodal data streams.

• Collaborate on the integration of cameras, microphones, and haptics.

• Implement code that operates reliably across various platforms and hardware setups.

• Elevate framework stability, performance, and the developer experience.

• Produce clean, thoroughly tested code that upholds high engineering standards.

• Engage in code reviews and assist in elevating the engineering standards across the team.

• Contribute to shared tools, infrastructure, and cross-functional projects (20% of time).

• Collaborate within a dual-leadership structure (Engineering Manager and Tech Lead) to align on priorities and technical direction.

• Document systems and decisions to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, focusing on real-time software frameworks, cross-platform systems, or performance-critical applications.

• Expertise in C++/C#, with additional experience in at least one other systems programming language (C++, C#, Java, Rust, or Go).

• Background in cross-platform development.

• Proven experience in performance optimization, real-time systems, or hardware abstraction layers.

• Experience in developing developer APIs or software frameworks utilized by other engineers.
