Software Engineer – Fluent Commerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete implementation and ongoing support of Fluent Commerce OMS solutions.

• Create scalable, API-driven, and event-oriented OMS architectures.

• Establish solution blueprints that align with retail and eCommerce best practices.

• Evaluate solution designs, configurations, custom extensions, and integration methodologies.

• Ensure compliance with performance, security, scalability, and reliability standards.

• Lead, guide, and manage a team of OMS developers and integration engineers.

• Offer practical technical guidance, architecture support, and conduct code reviews.

• Maintain quality through design validation, testing governance, and readiness for release.

• Promote Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning and execution.

• Supervise integrations with enterprise and commerce systems, which include:

• Payment gateways (PayPal, Adyen, Stripe)

• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

• eCommerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Magento)

• CRM and loyalty solutions.

• Collaborate extensively with REST APIs, JSON payloads, webhooks, and event-driven frameworks.

• Ensure a smooth, reliable data flow between OMS and both downstream and upstream systems.

• Convert complex business needs into solid technical designs.

• Facilitate technical and solution workshops with client stakeholders.

• Provide guidance for production support, incident management, and root cause analysis.

• Assist in pre-sales efforts, including solution development, estimations, and RFP responses.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of comprehensive IT experience with enterprise systems.

• At least 3 years of direct experience with Fluent Commerce OMS.

• Strong knowledge of order lifecycle management and distributed order management (DOM).

• Proficiency in handling returns, exchanges, cancellations, refunds, and inventory orchestration.

• Extensive experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and asynchronous integrations.

• Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities.

• Practical experience working within Agile / Scrum delivery frameworks.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
