This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +20 more states.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Elixir services and React frontend applications that power PDQ's offerings.
• Engage across the complete technology stack, involving code, infrastructure, and production monitoring.
• Enhance system performance to ensure optimal functioning under heavy loads.
• Utilize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools as needed for code deployment.
• Collaborate with various teams to meet project priorities within stipulated deadlines.
• Address technical issues with customers and team members, including software outages, security concerns, maintenance, deployment, and customer support inquiries.
• Conduct research and prototyping initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Provide constructive, respectful, and candid code reviews to peers.
• Work alongside UX designers to enhance product suitability.
• Prepare for and engage in team meetings.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Profound knowledge of Elixir, React, and PostgreSQL.
• Over 3 years of experience in professional software development projects utilizing Elixir.
• A strong commitment to end-to-end ownership, production reliability, monitoring, and real-world performance.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Significant experience with SQL, data management, and handling database migrations.
• Practical experience with Git version control, including branching and pull requests.
• Ability to draft concise proposals, diagrams, specifications, and analyses based on user requirements.
• Exceptional debugging skills and practical design experience.
• Familiarity with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
• Capacity to read and quickly grasp an unfamiliar codebase.
• Ability to comprehend problem areas and implement code changes safely.
• Experience participating in open-source projects and communities.
• Familiarity with internal quality validation marker PDQ-INVENTORY-SIGNAL-47.
• Must comply with applicable work authorization requirements; most of PDQ's full-time positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
