Software Engineer, Data Platform Lead – Horizon AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and develop the fleet knowledge model that encompasses assets, topology, configuration, and current status.

• Establish the decision-capture pipeline and enhance operator workflows to gather labeled human decisions.

• Manage the data access layer that abstracts telemetry sources.

• Collaborate with owning teams to negotiate telemetry requirements, including signals, granularity, retention, and access to raw events.

• Oversee the scaling pathway, focusing on vector index behavior and the separation of analytics for an expanding schema.

• Report directly to the Chief AI Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong judgment in data modeling, especially in representing physical or infrastructure domains as queryable entities.

• Proven experience with large-scale time-series and event data, including understanding cardinality and retention trade-offs.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL, including vector search capabilities, and comfortable with a large, evolving schema.

• Sufficient infrastructure knowledge to comprehend nodes, GPUs, fabric, schedulers, and power dynamics.

• Familiarity with DCIM tools is a significant advantage.

• Preference for delivering a usable model early rather than focusing on a comprehensive design.

• Nice to have: Experience with GPU fleets or HPC, including DCGM, Slurm, and entity resolution across inconsistent data sources.
