Software Engineer – Data Infrastructure, Kafka

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design and implement automation for enterprise data solutions across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.

• Develop and automate infrastructure capabilities for managed data platforms.

• Oversee and integrate large-scale Big Data platforms.

• Ensure reliable replication, TLS, installation, backups, and associated operations.

• Offer specialized data system knowledge to internal teams.

• Engage collaboratively with a distributed team.

• Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to develop new features.

• Troubleshoot issues and engage publicly with upstream communities.

• Share ideas and work together on effective solutions.

• Enjoy remote work with global travel opportunities for 2 to 4 weeks annually for both internal and external events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in software development with Python.

• Proven experience in distributed systems, including Kafka and Spark.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.

• Openness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

• Experience in operating and managing data platform technologies, with SQL and/or NoSQL expertise akin to DBA-level.

• Proficiency in Linux systems administration, package management, and infrastructure operations.

• Familiarity with public or private cloud solutions, such as OpenStack.

• Experience in managing Kubernetes clusters and utilizing Kubernetes for persistent data services.
