Software Engineer – Cloud/GovCloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage crucial initiatives that support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

• Engage in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Create, develop, and uphold scalable, high-performing, and maintainable applications using Java, Kotlin, and TypeScript.

• Design and optimize database solutions using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Develop and sustain cloud-based solutions within AWS GovCloud.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud services and system integration.

• Collaborate within an Agile framework alongside product owners, architects, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams.

• Perform code reviews, unit and integration testing, and debugging tasks.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation that details architecture, design, and implementation.

• Ensure adherence to federal regulations, DoD policies, and security standards.

• Prepare executive-level briefings, status reports, and performance updates for government stakeholders and corporate leadership.

• Foster relationships with both internal and external partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance (Interim TS may be accepted).

• Over 2 years of experience supporting the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including the design, development, testing, and deployment of secure, enterprise-level applications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (preferred).

• 2 years’ experience working with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.

• Practical experience in developing applications using Java or Kotlin and TypeScript.

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and contemporary development frameworks.

• Experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server databases, focusing on writing and optimizing queries while ensuring data integrity.

• Experience supporting applications in AWS GovCloud or other secure cloud environments.

• Understanding of cloud architecture, performance enhancement, and troubleshooting methodologies.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, code reviews, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Highly proficient analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to self-organize, prioritize tasks, and conduct research on multiple projects under strict deadlines.

• Must work from within the United States; access from foreign locations and IP addresses is restricted.
