Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and continuously improve a highly available platform utilizing Microsoft Azure.

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure for mission-critical applications.

• Develop and apply platform standards for security, availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Take ownership of monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Automate operational and provisioning workflows.

• Plan and execute the migration of existing on-premises systems to the Azure Cloud.

• Analyze, consolidate, and modernize current applications, infrastructures, and system architectures.

• Create target architectures for transitioning from legacy systems to contemporary cloud platforms.

• Manage and support transformation initiatives.

• Build and maintain automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.

• Develop and refine CI/CD processes.

• Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources.

• Introduce and continually improve modern platform and DevOps tools.

• Design, build, and operate secure network architectures.

• Administer and enhance VPN, IPSec, and APN connections.

• Plan and execute hybrid network configurations.

• Analyze and troubleshoot complex network and connectivity challenges.

• Advise software development teams on architecture, operations, and deployment issues.

• Provide and enhance platform services for development teams.

• Support containerization, automation, and operational transitions.

• Conduct technical reviews and assist in solution design.

• Promote DevOps principles and foster collaboration between development and operations.

• Implement Security by Design and compliance mandates.

• Support audits as well as regulatory and security-related requirements.

• Establish and continually enhance operational standards, policies, and documentation.

• Contribute to cloud governance and security frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT Security, or a related technical field, or equivalent qualifications.

• Microsoft certifications.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or similar technologies).

• Experience with Linux and/or Windows servers.

• Knowledge of contemporary automation and deployment methodologies.

• Proficient in German (at least C1 level).

• Good command of English (at least B2 level).

• High level of ownership and a solution-focused mindset.

• Passion for modernizing existing IT environments.

• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

• Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities.

• Team-oriented mindset and enjoyment in collaborating with development teams.
