This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Develop robust and scalable backend systems that drive Coverflex’s compensation platform.
• Design APIs and enhance database performance.
• Make key architectural choices and influence product development as a product engineer.
• Work alongside product managers and designers from the discovery phase to delivery.
• Take ownership of significant challenges and deliver features from start to finish.
• Create dependable infrastructure with monitoring capabilities and graceful degradation.
• Enhance system quality and performance through optimization, reducing latency, improving error handling, and ensuring data consistency.
• Implement testing coverage, enhance observability, produce documentation, and establish reusable engineering patterns.
• Lead features through the entire process and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, share insights, collaborate with teammates, and uphold engineering standards.
• Partner with the product team on technical exploration, identifying opportunities, validating assumptions, and ensuring solution quality.
• Proactively communicate progress, obstacles, and trade-offs.
• Mid to Senior level of experience.
• Strong fundamentals in backend engineering.
• Production-ready mindset with a focus on testing, observability, and monitoring.
• Experience in shipping small pull requests using CI/CD processes.
• Product-oriented mindset that emphasizes user outcomes.
• Collaborative approach to work and a commitment to team practices.
• Proficiency in Elixir, Phoenix, and Phoenix LiveView as primary tools.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of GitHub, GitHub Actions, ConfigCat, and Datadog.
• Proficiency in English as the primary language.
• Professional experience with Elixir/Phoenix is a plus.
• Experience in multi-market B2B SaaS is advantageous.
• Background in fintech or regulated industries is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices and prompt-level fluency is a plus.
