This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in the design, execution, and enhancement of software throughout the autonomy stack, focusing on real-time systems operating on the vehicle.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of on-vehicle data logging and recording systems.
• Participate in the creation of a hermetic build and cross-compilation pipeline, which includes packaging and deployment for on-vehicle computing platforms and related system components.
• Instrument, analyze, and optimize system performance comprehensively—from IPC latency to compute throughput to disk I/O.
• Develop tests and support continuous integration improvements to guarantee system reliability.
• Contribute to the integration of on-vehicle, cloud, and fleet-facing systems—including remote data pipelines, over-the-air updates, and connectivity solutions.
• Engage in related engineering tasks as required, ranging from firmware integrations and developer tools to cloud services and internal web applications.
• Collaborate with machine learning and controls engineers to merge their contributions into the real-time on-vehicle stack.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong expertise in Rust or C++, with a track record of deploying low-latency, concurrent software on Linux.
• Knowledge of real-time scheduling, inter-process communication, synchronization mechanisms, and debugging of latency-sensitive concurrent systems.
• Experience with Linux systems software, hardware-adjacent infrastructure, sensor/computing platform initialization, or similarly close-to-hardware systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• This position comes with a base salary, benefits, and equity compensation.
