Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, encompassing design, development, deployment, and maintenance.

• Enhance ecommerce platforms that facilitate online shopping for Anthropologie.com, UrbanOutfitters.com, FreePeople.com, and ShopTerrain.com.

• Create customer-facing applications and collaborate with established store brands.

• Architect and develop microservices along with event-driven systems.

• Introduce new product features and refine the existing code of ecommerce applications.

• Assess requirements and strategize, design, and create complex, business-critical software solutions.

• Generate functional designs in partnership with enterprise architects, developers, business partners, and end users.

• Utilize AI coding agents during planning, implementation, and review phases to ensure code accuracy and quality.

• Address any potential production issues as they arise.

• Collaborate across various teams and disseminate knowledge among other engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in software development.

• Familiarity with object-oriented principles and design patterns.

• Proficient in JSON, REST, HTML, AJAX, and CSS.

• Expertise in Python or Golang.

• Strong grasp of RESTful service design.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous message processing technologies.

• Proficient in data modeling.

• Practical experience utilizing an AI coding agent in a professional codebase, such as Claude Code or Cursor.

• Capability to learn new concepts and technologies while developing features from start to finish.

• Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical issues with developers, QA, and BSAs.

• Knowledge of search solutions such as Elasticsearch or Solr.

• Proficiency with unit testing frameworks and mocking libraries.

• Familiarity with Django or other ORM frameworks.

• Experience with Tornado, Flask, or other web server technologies.

• Familiarity with Vue.js, React, or comparable web frameworks.

• Experience with NoSQL databases.

• Background with relational database management systems, preferably PostgreSQL or Cloud SQL.

• Experience in authoring agent files and reusable skills, as well as connecting agents to real systems through CLI tools or MCP.

• Exposure to data science and machine learning technologies.

• Understanding of cloud hosting platforms and infrastructure.
