This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Design and implement dependable, high-speed features that manage significant traffic with minimal end-to-end latency. Collaborate closely with product management and technical leadership to break down intricate system requirements into achievable, iterative milestones.
• Lead thorough code reviews and advocate for maintainable practices in our Go codebase, ensuring that high testing standards (including unit, integration, and component testing) are upheld throughout the team.
• Oversee and improve cloud configurations across AWS and Azure environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Guarantee comprehensive observability coverage by standardizing metrics, alerts, and distributed tracing across key data pipelines.
• Promote a solid architectural foundation. Actively identify technical debt, system bottlenecks, and single points of failure (SPOF), striking a balance between feature delivery and essential platform refactoring.
• Cultivate a collaborative atmosphere by mentoring junior engineers, leading technical sprint planning, and sharing knowledge across distributed engineering teams.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience in building and operating resilient backend services at scale.
• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools (like Claude Code) to expedite code generation, automate testing, and optimize debugging workflows.
• Strong hands-on production experience in writing clean, idiomatic, and highly concurrent Go (Golang), Java, or Python code.
• Significant experience in deploying and managing production workloads in cloud environments—preferably with extensive knowledge of AWS core services (such as EC2, S3, Aurora, or DynamoDB) AND Microsoft Azure equivalents (such as Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, or Cosmos DB).
• Expertise in Terraform for provisioning automation and maintaining environment consistency.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of distributed datastores, caching layers, and asynchronous event streaming (e.g., Kafka or similar queuing systems).
• Solid foundational understanding of computer science principles, data structures, and the development of self-healing cloud architectures.
