This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
• Deliver high-quality software efficiently.
• Design, write, review, test, and deploy code across our technology stack, ensuring quality and speed while effectively using AI coding tools based on product requirements and technical insights.
• Develop and enhance automated unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
• Collaborate on data modeling, application architecture, and technology choices, discussing what is effective, what is not, and proposing improvement ideas.
• Carefully plan and estimate development efforts, communicating trade-offs and risks at an early stage.
• Engage in shared support responsibilities to help maintain system reliability.
• Collaborate on the purpose of the pod.
• Contribute to defining pod features, design, and technical strategy, rather than just executing tasks.
• Enhance documentation and knowledge sharing within the Engineering team.
• Partner with Product and Design teams to understand the objectives of our projects and provide technical insights early in the discussions.
• Grow with intention.
• Actively seek mentorship and offer it to others when possible.
• Utilize Friday focus time to develop skills that are important for your growth and align with our roadmap.
• Engage in learning and development opportunities such as book clubs, tech guru sessions, and share & tells.
• Continuously deepen your understanding of Spoiler Alert's industry, customers, and mission over time.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundational skills: you produce clean, tested, maintainable code and take responsibility for what you deliver.
• Proficient in integrating AI into your development processes, fostering curiosity and maintaining a balance of strong opinions.
• Experience in web application development across the entire stack, with comfort in both backend and frontend contributions (our stack includes TypeScript, React, Express).
• Familiar with data modeling and database interactions (we utilize MongoDB).
• An effective collaborator and communicator across engineering, product, data, and design teams.
• Notable experience differentiators include background in the food and beverage or CPG industry, experience with marketplace or auction-based platforms, applied AI/ML feature development, and strong test engineering practices.
