Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Acquire knowledge of the BrandX domain and technology stack while collaborating with brands, Finance partners, and Order Engineering teams.

• Take ownership of small-to-medium features from inception to delivery.

• Develop code adhering to engineering standards and engage in code review processes.

• Create reliable and maintainable software, ensuring adequate test coverage.

• Contribute to practices surrounding test coverage, continuous integration, and deployment.

• Utilize Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as primary development tools.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues effectively.

• Engage in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, game days, and training sessions.

• Participate in the on-call rotation, with responsibilities scaling as you become more familiar with the systems.

• Develop and maintain features such as Dashboard, Admin, billing, invoicing, authentication, and Olo AI Assist for restaurant technology clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, or a robust portfolio of completed projects.

• Proficiency in C# and .NET, with the ability to read code authored by others.

• Some experience in building web UIs; familiarity with React and TypeScript is preferred, but any modern framework is acceptable.

• Comfortable working with SQL and relational databases.

• Comprehension of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methods and their appropriate applications.

• Regular use of AI coding agents like Claude Code, with an understanding of the foundational principles behind generated code, and a keen interest in enhancing these tools.

• Ability to ask questions early in the process, document work, and collaborate with colleagues across different time zones.
