Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create well-structured, testable, and efficient code.

• Develop creative solutions for intricate operational and technical challenges.

• Continuously improve applications to enhance features while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Engage in the complete software development lifecycle as part of a Scrum team.

• Collaborate with technology industry leaders and both domestic and international law enforcement agencies to aid in detecting and preventing child exploitation.

• Act as a domain expert in information systems.

• Assist in reviewing and refining software requirements.

• Identify and implement enhancements for business and IT processes.

• Assess technical solutions and provide estimates for operational planning.

• Participate in code reviews and maintain architecture, framework, and coding standards.

• Address and help resolve production issues, including rare after-hours support.

• Uphold the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive information and processes.

• Work efficiently in an Agile environment while mentoring junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 3-5 years of full stack Java development experience, with familiarity in Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.

• Proven experience in building highly available, scalable, cloud-ready applications, including client, server, and database layers.

• Familiarity with recent versions of Java and Spring Boot is highly desired.

• Strong skills in object-oriented software development and data modeling.

• Experience in designing and implementing distributed systems and microservice architectures.

• Knowledge in designing and implementing RESTful web services.

• Experience with designing and implementing message-driven and event-driven architectures, including message brokers and Spring AMQP.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing relational databases; familiarity with NoSQL data stores is a plus.

• Hands-on frontend development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Sass, and familiarity with Angular, React, Bootstrap, or jQuery is advantageous.

• Experience in building and deploying containerized applications using Docker; exposure to CI/CD tools is an asset.

• Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and TestNG.

• Understanding of Agile software development methods, including requirements gathering and analysis.

• Ability to collaborate effectively, accept and provide feedback, prioritize multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervision.
