📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold the infrastructure for web applications and the data systems that facilitate interactive, narrative-driven information experiences.

• Oversee application-layer technical standards, encompassing code quality, system design patterns, deployment practices, and performance metrics.

• Collaborate with Information Engineers, designers, and data scientists to create compelling data narratives, visualizations, and user interfaces that align with organizational objectives.

• Produce and maintain production-quality code throughout the entire stack, with a primary focus on back-end services, data APIs, and application infrastructure.

• Spearhead the assessment, integration, and responsible deployment of generative AI functionalities within web applications and information systems.

• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept architectures for emerging interface paradigms, including extended reality (XR) and AI-enhanced user experiences.

• Ensure the reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability of all systems managed by the ID&E team.

• Investigate and assess new technologies, frameworks, and architectural strategies to enhance the team's technical skills.

• Create and document technical standards and best practices for application engineering within the ID&E practice.

• Collaborate with Information Engineers on shared front-end issues, offering architectural guidance while participating in design system implementation and UI component quality assurance.

• Engage in ongoing learning and professional development, with a specific focus on emerging technologies relevant to the transformation office's R&D initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical knowledge and experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in application engineering, software development, or a closely related technical position, with a clear trajectory towards senior-level responsibility and decision-making.

• Proficiency across the entire web stack, with particular expertise in back-end services, data APIs, and application infrastructure; front-end fluency adequate for effective collaboration on UI architecture and component quality.

• Experience in designing and managing web application architecture for data-rich or interactive applications, including decisions regarding scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Proficient in one or more back-end languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, TypeScript) and familiar with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue).

• Experience integrating generative AI capabilities into production or near-production applications, including familiarity with LLM APIs and prompt-driven workflows.

• Understanding of data pipeline architecture, data APIs, and cloud data platform integration, with the capability to design the application layer that utilizes and exposes that data.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices (Azure preferred), including knowledge of CI/CD, environment management, and application security.

• Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, engineering best practices, and security principles suitable for an enterprise environment.

• Knowledge of emerging interface technologies, such as extended reality (XR), spatial computing, or AI-assisted interfaces, or a demonstrated eagerness for rapid learning in adjacent technical fields.

• Proven ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of expertise, including legal professionals, firm leadership, and non-technical collaborators.

• Strong capability to translate technical architecture and engineering decisions into outcomes that meet both business objectives and user experience goals.
