Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Contribute to Airis, Eoliann's web-based platform for climate risk management, specifically focusing on the new module designed for electricity providers and distributors.

• Engage in work involving APIs, data flows, DevOps, and gradually transition into MLOps.

• Develop production-quality Python code that emphasizes testability, maintainability, and performance through Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Take part in code reviews and assist in establishing coding standards and best practices.

• Deploy applications within a cloud environment utilizing Terraform.

• Oversee the maintenance of CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitHub Actions and AWS.

• Collaborate through pair programming with the team, including the use of AI coding agents.

• Contribute to frontend development using React.

• Gradually provide support to the Data Science team concerning climate data models and pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional software development experience.

• Strong expertise in Python, encompassing standard libraries, data structures, and API development.

• Experience with cloud-native applications on AWS.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

• Practical understanding of CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions and AWS.

• Experience with containerized application development.

• Ability to work with AI coding agents as a development tool, applying critical and conscious judgment.

• Frontend development experience with React and Tailwind is a plus.

• Familiarity with ML technologies such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, MLflow, or ONNX is advantageous.

• Experience working with geospatial data formats including Zarr, xarray, GDAL, rasterio, or NetCDF is a plus.

• Prior experience in establishing SRE/DevSecOps processes is a plus.
