Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute and oversee intricate systems analysis, design, and development initiatives.

• Act as both a leader and an individual contributor on sophisticated projects.

• Offer analytical consulting and guidance in recognizing and implementing information technology solutions that align with business goals and strategic objectives.

• Supervise and direct less experienced team members and coordinate development tasks for projects of any magnitude.

• Develop and manage the technical aspects of project plans.

• Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams regarding systems development direction, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.

• Prepare and assess test data; execute comprehensive test plans and perform debugging.

• Analyze complex interrelationships and impacts among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms.

• Draft and review technical and functional specifications; update systems documentation as needed.

• Create charts, tables, and diagrams for problem analysis; evaluate documentation from junior staff.

• Prepare and review assessments covering tasks, timelines, and resource efforts.

• Ensure efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications.

• Suggest technology, policies, and procedures; lead or engage in vendor software evaluations.

• Adhere to and advocate for development standards and procedures.

• Maintain technical proficiency and expert-level knowledge of applications, development environments, and client setups.

• Assist with managing expense and capital budgets.

• Evaluate employee performance and may conduct annual reviews.

• Comply with risk and regulatory standards, policies, controls, and the Company's Risk Appetite; identify issues needing escalation.

• Foster diversity and embody the Bank's brand.

• Uphold internal control standards and implement findings from audits and regulatory reviews.

• Undertake related duties or projects, including due diligence, cost/benefit analyses, or business studies.

• Operate under the supervision of Technology management while independently managing high-level systems analysis and technical development phases.

• Oversee the activities of others and lead project initiatives.

• Assess staff performance and contribute to the development of less experienced team members.

• Engage with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors.

• Provide support to higher management and act as a technical representative on committees or ad-hoc projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of an Associate's degree and 6 years of experience in systems analysis/application development, or alternatively, a combined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 6 years in systems analysis/application development.

• Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.

• Proficient with personal computers, relevant project management software, word processing software, and spreadsheet applications.

• Capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience presenting to targeted audiences.

• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.

• Detail-oriented with strong lateral thinking skills.

• Experience facilitating coordination between Applications and business units.

• Background in recommending and implementing system solutions.

• Proven experience in driving project milestones and meeting delivery timelines.

• Demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills from a project management perspective.

• Good understanding of the Bank's application framework.

• Subject matter expertise in business with knowledge or experience in utilizing the supported application/system.

• Mastery of supported applications with advanced knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications.

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as independently.

• Capacity to multitask across various elements of complex projects.

• Mastered knowledge and focus on the entire system for projects beyond normal business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
