📋 Description

• Develop data tools that empower data professionals to effectively explore and analyze information.

• Influence the future of Apache Superset through collaborative open-source efforts, engaging with internal users, and contributing directly to the codebase.

• Create integrations between data products and Airbnb's data platform ecosystem, which includes metric infrastructure, data management systems, and data warehouse structures.

• Ensure high levels of stability, reliability, and technical excellence for data tools.

• Develop features for Superset, AI for Data Chat, Notebooks, and Data Platform integrations.

• Partner with the Apache Superset open-source community and make significant contributions to the project.

• Prepare, test, and internally release official Superset OSS versions for Airbnb.

• Work alongside data platform teams on various integrations.

• Interact with product users to collect feedback, manage feature deployments and migrations, and drive projects from inception to completion.

• Enhance testability and observability, review code and technical designs, and identify opportunities for quality or architectural enhancements.

• Provide lightweight on-call support.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of full-time, relevant industry experience.

• Proficiency in developing backend services using Python.

• Strong skills in frontend development including HTML, CSS, Typescript, and Javascript; experience with modern frontend frameworks like React is advantageous.

• Practical experience with data, SQL, data engineering, or big data technologies such as Airflow, Spark, or Trino is a plus.

• Background in internal application development, data infrastructure, and/or analytics engineering is beneficial.

• A commitment to high-quality code and resilient systems, focusing on observability and reliability.

• Capability to lead cross-functional projects or migrations, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and execution with partner teams and users.

• A passion for creating interactive user experiences and engaging with users.
