Software Engineer – AI Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Conexa AI’s core services, emphasizing accuracy, scalability, security, and observability.

• Design and implement generative and agentic AI features in production, which include agents, RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, LLM integrations, and connections with external tools via MCPs.

• Build and advance multi-stack distributed systems utilizing Node.js, Python, and Java, covering RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and streaming pipelines.

• Integrate microservices, legacy systems, and AI platforms, ensuring consistency, resilience, and traceability throughout.

• Work with message queues and event-driven architectures to facilitate asynchronous processing and orchestration of conversational and agentic workflows.

• Model, optimize, and manage relational, non-relational, and vector databases, including embeddings, caching, and eventual consistency.

• Occasionally contribute to the product front end using React/TypeScript.

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical challenges in multi-tenant production environments, addressing non-deterministic behaviors in LLM-based systems.

• Ensure code quality through automated testing, agent quality evaluations (evals), and adherence to software engineering best practices.

• Identify and suggest new applications of generative and agentic AI within the Conexa ecosystem.

• Rapidly prototype AI feature hypotheses, confirming technical feasibility and business value.

• Engage in defining the application of AI within the team's roadmap.

• Bring cutting-edge AI knowledge and assess practical adoption opportunities.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Data, and AI teams on integrated delivery and prioritization of ideas.

• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to the technical and strategic development of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with Node.js and NestJS, strict TypeScript, and microservices architectures.

• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI or equivalent) for service and API development, particularly in generative AI.

• Practical experience in building AI agents, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations in production settings.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation tools like n8n or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), encompassing data modeling, complex queries, and performance tuning.

• Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis) and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, BullMQ).

• Understanding of vector databases and the principles of embeddings and semantic search.

• Experience in designing and versioning RESTful APIs and WebSockets.

• Capability to read and enhance front-end code in React/TypeScript.

• Regular, advanced use of agentic AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot, including environment customization via MCPs.

• Experience working with Scrum, Kanban, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Analytical, proactive, and highly accountable, with a robust sense of ownership.

• Strong communication skills and the capacity to influence technical and product decisions in ambiguous environments.

• Prior experience in driving AI initiatives from inception is advantageous.

• Familiarity with observability for AI systems is a plus.

• Knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture is beneficial.

• Experience in digital health, healthtech, or regulated sectors is a plus.

• Active and current interest in generative and agentic AI research and developments is a bonus.
