Software Engineer, AI Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Contribute to and enhance internal AI platforms such as Archimedes, Bosun, and easyRAG

• Develop reusable platform capabilities including APIs, SDKs, templates, and shared services

• Prototype and transition new AI capabilities into production in collaboration with senior engineers

• Implement and refine Chime's golden path patterns for LLM utilization

• Create standardized, observable, and governed AI-driven assistants and workflows

• Apply evaluation, observability, and cost-management strategies across AI systems, focusing on quality, latency, safety, and expenditure

• Collaborate with Security, Risk, and Legal teams to establish responsible AI guidelines

• Work alongside engineers throughout Chime to integrate AI into internal tools, workflows, and employee experiences

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a software engineer with a history of delivering production-quality features in a distributed system or platform setting

• Practical experience with LLMs or ML services, or a strong interest and demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to AI-specific tools

• Proficient coding skills in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript

• Comfortable working across services, CLIs, and internal tools

• A platform mindset focused on reuse and development for multiple consumers

• Familiar with or eager to learn about evaluation, prompt and version management, observability, cost control, safety, and data privacy

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical trade-offs to teammates and cross-functional partners
