This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Review comprehensive software development cycles from initial requirements through to implementation.
• Assess whether the resultant code is both functionally and technically sound.
• Examine implementation decisions for maintainability, reliability, and engineering excellence.
• Identify bugs, incomplete solutions, flawed technical assumptions, logical errors, regressions, edge cases, and gaps in debugging.
• Evaluate debugging methods and proposed solutions for their completeness and technical validity.
• Analyze coding sessions conducted with AI-assisted developer tools.
• Assess workflows driven by agentic and specifications.
• Identify ineffective prompts, unnecessary iterations, or suboptimal utilization of available development context.
• Determine if AI-generated recommendations are adequately validated before implementation.
• Review multi-step coding pathways and evaluate the order of investigation, implementation, testing, and refinement.
• Ascertain whether development decisions adhere to a coherent and effective workflow.
• Evaluate engineering decisions against recognized software development standards.
• Assess architecture, implementation strategy, testing, and debugging selections.
• Analyze development traces against structured project benchmarks.
• Provide clear written justifications for evaluation decisions and pinpoint specific evidence for each conclusion.
• Consistently apply scoring and review criteria across assignments.
• Engage with repositories, specifications, code alterations, debugging, and testing within AI-assisted coding contexts.
• Evaluate the manner in which developers utilize tools to investigate and adjust existing systems.
• Offer practical insights into effective developer-tool workflows.
• Over 3 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong foundation in backend or full-stack software engineering.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with agentic or specification-driven development methodologies.
• Excellent code-reading and debugging capabilities.
• Ability to assess multi-step software development processes for accuracy and adherence to best practices.
• Strong written communication skills and the capacity to provide precise technical feedback.
• Experience with Kiro or Amazon CodeCatalyst is preferred.
• Previous experience in evaluating or grading AI-generated code is beneficial.
• Contributions to developer tooling are a plus.
• All work must be performed without using confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or third party.
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
• Part-time independent contractor role.
• Fully remote position available within the United States.
• Flexible scheduling aligned with project demands.
• Compensation ranges from $60 to $80 per hour.
• Project durations may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project requirements and performance.
