Principal AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and train models in machine learning, deep learning, time series, generative AI, predictive analytics, and natural language processing.

• Design, test, and implement AI solutions in both cloud and on-premises settings.

• Handle large healthcare datasets through data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

• Build APIs and integrate AI systems with existing technology platforms.

• Deploy and enhance AI models within Gainwell’s technological framework.

• Assess models and consistently monitor the performance of machine learning, deep learning, and large language model systems.

• Improve and refine AI and generative AI models for precision, efficiency, and speed using MLOps and LLMOps methodologies.

• Keep abreast of developments in AI, machine learning, and generative AI.

• Ensure that AI implementations adhere to healthcare regulations and ethical AI standards.

• Advance automation and optimize workflows.

• Create front-end solutions utilizing Streamlit; familiarity with React, Angular, and Vue.js is advantageous.

• Engage in innovative AI solutions within a mission-focused healthcare technology setting.

• Travel occasionally, estimated at about 0–10%.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2 to 15 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, concentrating on the development and deployment of AI solutions.

• Practical expertise in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI (including multi-modal large language models), natural language processing, and computer vision.

• Proficient programming skills in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other AI frameworks.

• Experience in developing, deploying, and fine-tuning large language models (such as GPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar), including prompt engineering, model optimization, and inference efficiency.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps for scalable AI deployments.

• Solid understanding of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, SQL, NoSQL databases).

• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to convert business challenges into AI-driven solutions.

• Knowledge of healthcare AI applications and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS) is an advantage.

• Comprehension of business use cases, excellent interpersonal skills, strong architectural skills, and the ability to persuade various stakeholders.
