Software Engineer 4 – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Design, develop, and deliver Android features and infrastructure for Netflix users and engineers.

β€’ Write clean, testable, and well-documented code supported by automated JVM unit tests, Espresso, and similar testing frameworks.

β€’ Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to define project scopes and evaluate trade-offs.

β€’ Stay informed about contemporary Android tools and practices and assist in modernizing the codebase.

β€’ Utilize GenAI tools in everyday development and investigate agentic workflows.

β€’ Proactively communicate with team members and stakeholders, including project management and estimation processes.

β€’ Take ownership of projects from start to finish, encompassing scoping, development, and delivery.

β€’ Contribute to SDUI architecture and tooling, ad frameworks, SDKs, developer tools, or shared client frameworks based on team assignment.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Strong grasp of Android development principles.

β€’ Proficient coding skills in Kotlin; knowledge of Java is advantageous.

β€’ Comfortable navigating related stacks such as GraphQL.

β€’ Quick to adapt to new frameworks and paradigms.

β€’ Proven experience in delivering tangible product features.

β€’ Capability to manage projects from inception to completion, including scoping, development, and delivery.

β€’ Ability to assess trade-offs and make decisions with limited information.

β€’ Effective communication and relationship-building skills across teams.

β€’ Familiarity with Jetpack Compose, Circuit, Dagger/Hilt, or GraphQL is a plus.

β€’ Experience in building or maintaining SDKs, developer tools, or shared client frameworks is a plus.

β€’ Knowledge of high-scale or real-time systems such as live streaming, advertising, or playback is a plus.
