Software Engineer 1 – Cloud Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, test, scale, monitor, and uphold secure, cost-effective infrastructure within AWS and Azure multi-cloud settings.

• Develop, enhance, and manage infrastructure as code to facilitate repeatable, auditable, and scalable system provisioning.

• Engage in technical discussions and offer constructive feedback.

• Contribute as a key member of an agile team.

• Collaborate with product and application engineering teams to comprehend platform requirements and deliver developer-friendly infrastructure abstractions.

• Participate in an on-call rotation, identify systemic issues, and drive long-term reliability enhancements.

• Mitigate technical debt and operational toil by addressing root causes, automating repetitive tasks, and shaping roadmap investments.

• Leverage AI to explore, design, and implement solutions while enhancing documentation, runbooks, and AI competencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• 1–2 years of experience in engineering cloud infrastructure solutions for microservice-based systems within production environments.

• Over 1 year of experience with Python.

• 6 months to 1 year of experience with at least two of Terraform, AWS or equivalent public cloud services, and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with mature software development practices, including source control, testing, and deployment.

• Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, and managing production-grade systems.

• Proficient in using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex in everyday engineering tasks.

• Capability to validate, simplify, and dismiss AI-generated outputs that do not meet production standards.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

• Nice to have: Bash, Golang, Terragrunt, large-scale infrastructure-as-code abstractions, or AWS certifications.
