Software Development Test Engineer, SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks utilizing tools such as Playwright and Pytest.

• Create reusable automation libraries and custom tools for API, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Construct automated tests for KSM APIs, SDKs, and cloud-hosted services.

• Incorporate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).

• Oversee containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Validate secure authentication and access workflows (SSO, OAuth, SAML).

• Analyze automation failures and implement long-term stability enhancements.

• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate testability into system design.

• Leverage AI-assisted tools like Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to enhance test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in test automation or software development in test.

• Strong programming abilities in one or more languages such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Demonstrated experience in owning the design and progression of automation frameworks or test systems.

• Practical experience with automation frameworks like Playwright or Pytest.

• Experience in testing APIs, SDKs, and backend services within cloud environments (preferably AWS).

• Extensive experience in integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of secure authentication principles (SSO, OAuth, SAML).

• Strong skills in debugging, analysis, and collaboration across teams.

• Due to the role's involvement in FedRAMP-compliant environments, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person.

• Preferred: Experience in testing secrets management, security, or DevOps platforms.

• Preferred: Familiarity with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.

• Preferred: Exposure to performance or load testing.

• Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
