Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the testing strategy and quality standards for the Calm app as well as internal content and administrative tools.

• Design and develop automated frameworks and suites for UI, API, mobile, and integration testing.

• Incorporate automated tests into dependable CI/CD pipelines.

• Examine requirements, specifications, and pull requests early to identify issues during the sprint.

• Work collaboratively with consumer product teams on release planning and certification processes.

• Oversee release health monitoring post-launch.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to establish acceptance criteria and maintain release schedules.

• Manage and guide the offshore QA team, focusing on automation and higher-value testing tasks.

• Identify, document, and lead the resolution of defects.

• Monitor and report on quality metrics such as coverage, flakiness, escaped defects, and release stability.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools to enhance test creation, maintenance, and analysis.

• Contribute to the development of features for Android, iOS, backend, or web as the role progresses.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a software engineer, SDET, or QA automation engineer.

• Proficient programming skills in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Practical experience in building test automation frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in testing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).

• Proven experience in leading QA initiatives and overseeing release readiness, preferably with distributed or offshore teams.

• Comfortable working with AI-assisted tools in testing and development processes.

• A background check is mandatory upon offer acceptance.

• Successful drug screening may be required for roles that access certain types of information.
