Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for Quality Assurance of a new .NET-based product as the sole QA engineer.

• Establish and implement the testing strategy, test plans, quality standards, and criteria for release readiness.

• Choose suitable automation tools and create a sustainable test automation framework from the ground up.

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests that cover essential functionalities, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.

• Conduct manual and exploratory testing to validate new features and detect issues that are outside the scope of automated testing.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure dependable and actionable test results.

• Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and enhance testability early in the development process.

• Investigate defects, document reproducible findings, and verify resolved issues.

• Enhance release quality by evaluating test coverage, communicating potential risks, and offering clear recommendations for release readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a Senior QA or QA Automation position, capable of independently managing the entire QA lifecycle.

• Experience in establishing QA processes and creating test automation frameworks from scratch.

• Strong practical programming skills in at least one language suitable for test automation; no specific language required.

• Comprehensive understanding of test design methodologies, risk-based testing, and selecting suitable levels of test coverage.

• Experience in testing APIs, backend services, and integrations.

• Ability to effectively combine automated, manual, and exploratory testing methodologies.

• Experience in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and working with Git.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities, including experience with logs, test data, and databases.

• Ability to pragmatically select tools, prioritize testing tasks, and work independently on a new project with changing requirements.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey quality risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Nice to have: Experience in testing .NET-based applications or programming in C#.

• Nice to have: Prior experience as the sole QA engineer on a product.

• Nice to have: Experience in performance, load, or security testing.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with containerized testing environments and Docker.
