Software Development Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Accountable for enhancing the quality and expansion of the program through effective online instructor leadership, curriculum enhancement coordination, and consistent instruction of software development courses.

• Oversee and guide a team of Pathway Brasil online instructors responsible for teaching software development courses.

• Manage instructors delivering introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses within the program.

• Facilitate curriculum feedback and assist in course enhancements based on insights from students, instructors, BYU-Idaho faculty, and BYU-Pathway Worldwide academic teams.

• Conduct online courses within the Software Development program.

• Ensure quality assurance in teaching and learning for the courses you oversee.

• Mentor and cultivate instructors and graders by offering feedback, training, and continuous support.

• Foster program growth by engaging in strategic discussions, long-term planning, and ensuring alignment with academic and professional standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred. A bachelor's degree combined with other qualifications may also be acceptable.

• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in software development, software engineering, technology, or related areas.

• Proficiency in both Portuguese and English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities in both languages.

• Comprehensive understanding of software development principles and practices, including programming, problem-solving, engineering best practices, project work, and technical collaboration.

• Competence in leading, mentoring, training, and evaluating online instructors.

• Excellent collaboration, communication, organizational skills, and ability to follow up on results.

• Dedication to excellence in online teaching and a student-centered learning approach.

• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in managing and training teams, employees, instructors, and technical professionals. Background in online teaching, higher education, technical mentoring, or course development. Professional or academic experience in web development, databases, software architecture, testing, version control, agile methodologies, or related subjects. Experience collaborating with international teams or in bilingual settings. A passion for student-centered teaching, continuous improvement, and nurturing technology talent.
