This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Lead a team of six .NET developers in the Application Development department to create and manage custom applications, integrations, and internal tools.
• Promote the hands-on use of AI coding tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
• Develop standards, validation methods, benchmarks, and workflows for AI-assisted development.
• Mentor developers on AI prompting, tool integration, and workflows that leverage AI capabilities.
• Act as the internal expert on AI-assisted .NET development and collaborate with the Director of IT on wider AI initiatives.
• Directly oversee six .NET developers, encompassing performance evaluations, goal-setting, career growth, coaching, one-on-ones, and team meetings.
• Manage the application development backlog and release schedule across AHS, Praxis Health, and Interpath Laboratory.
• Define, estimate, monitor, document, and deliver projects while balancing competing priorities and resource challenges.
• Provide technical guidance for the .NET application stack, including architecture, code quality, development standards, code reviews, and quality assurance processes.
• Assess AI-native strategies such as code generation pipelines, AI-assisted testing, automated documentation, and features integrated with large language models (LLMs).
• Ensure development practices comply with healthcare IT security regulations, encompassing HIPAA protections, handling of PHI, audit trails, and access controls.
• Serve as the primary IT contact for clinical, laboratory, revenue cycle, and operational stakeholders.
• Work together with Infrastructure and IT Support Managers on deployments, environment management, and production issues.
• Collaborate with the Director of IT on planning roadmaps, analyzing capacity, and strategizing resources.
• Over 5 years of software development experience in .NET, including proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role, such as team lead, tech lead, or in people management with direct reports.
• Proven hands-on experience in production using AI coding tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• A clear perspective on AI-assisted development, supported by examples and insights for discussion during the interview.
• Experience overseeing software delivery within a healthcare or regulated industry environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clinical and operational stakeholders.
• Must be a resident of Oregon, Washington, or Idaho.
• Preferred: experience with HL7 or clinical data exchange.
• Preferred: knowledge of HIPAA technical safeguards and requirements for handling PHI.
• Preferred: experience in developing or integrating LLM-driven features.
• Preferred: familiarity with SSRS or Power BI.
• Preferred: experience supporting multi-entity or multi-site healthcare organizations.
• Manual dexterity for operating computers and office machines; ability to stoop, bend, run errands, and sit for prolonged periods.
