This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee, cultivate, and guide a team of manufacturing and automation engineers.

• Manage hiring, performance evaluations, and talent nurturing primarily for seasoned professionals.

• Offer technical leadership in relation to complex manufacturing equipment and process automation solutions.

• Direct the development of technical solutions starting from problem identification to equipment implementation and operational transfer.

• Steer the architecture of equipment, control strategies, robotics integration, and functional safety measures.

• Create enterprise-level solutions for structural processing and process-centric manufacturing equipment.

• Collaborate with manufacturing sites, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other relevant stakeholders to specify technical requirements.

• Influence external vendors, OEMs, integrators, and technology suppliers regarding standards and technical direction.

• Convert intricate manufacturing challenges into feasible, scalable equipment solutions.

• Conduct technical design reviews and critically assess both internal and external engineering solutions.

• Forge strategic alliances with equipment OEMs, system integrators, and technology suppliers.

• Oversee the technical aspects of vendor-designed and vendor-constructed manufacturing equipment.

• Advocate for reusable and standardized solutions that can be implemented across various manufacturing sites.

• Assist in the commissioning, startup, and transition of equipment to site ownership.

• Cultivate technical expertise and engineering capabilities within the team.

• Act as a senior technical consultant for intricate automation and manufacturing equipment issues.

• Address undefined, moderately complex engineering challenges that integrate multiple technologies, sites, process constraints, and high-energy or high-force systems.

• Implement tactical and operational strategies that influence manufacturing performance and structural processing capabilities across the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.

• Proven experience in developing, integrating, or deploying industrial manufacturing equipment.

• Demonstrated expertise in industrial automation and robotics.

• Familiarity with industrial controls, PLC-based systems, and equipment integration.

• Understanding of functional safety and machine safety principles.

• Experience in leading engineers or technical teams.

• Background in collaborating with equipment OEMs, system integrators, or automation suppliers.

• Capability to lead technical design reviews and assess complex engineering solutions.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% to manufacturing sites and vendor facilities as necessary.

• Preferred: experience in leading engineering teams within a complex manufacturing setting.

• Preferred: robust background in manufacturing automation and capital equipment development.

• Preferred: familiarity with industrial robotics and robotic manufacturing processes.

• Preferred: experience with robotic welding, press systems, forming equipment, or other process-oriented manufacturing technologies.

• Preferred: knowledge of functional safety standards and safety-rated automation systems.

• Preferred: experience with complex machine controls and integrated manufacturing cells.

• Preferred: experience in creating equipment solutions for multiple manufacturing locations.

• Preferred: ability to mentor and foster the development of technical engineering talent.

• Preferred: strong technical problem-solving and systems thinking abilities.

• Preferred: experience in influencing enterprise standards and long-term technology strategies.
