Software Development Engineer – Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver testing services aimed at reducing software defects while enhancing the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of software solutions.

• Oversee comprehensive quality assurance for Web, Mobile, and other application portfolios through test automation.

• Design automated test strategies and frameworks.

• Develop, test, and plan both manual and automated test frameworks for intricate web and mobile applications.

• Mentor and coach Software Test Engineers in automated testing practices.

• Analyze product specifications and formulate test strategies, plans, and architectures.

• Facilitate formal reviews of test plans, designs, and requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Assess, research, develop, and suggest testing tools and technologies.

• Create, debug, and maintain test automation for various applications and services.

• Formulate, implement, and automate test plans and test cases in an Agile setting.

• Construct, execute, and sustain end-to-end automated test frameworks across applications, devices, and platforms.

• Develop automation and testing coverage tools that support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

• Test interactions between systems and applications, including web services, Tibco services, and APIs.

• Monitor and prioritize defects during product releases and throughout their lifecycles.

• Utilize quality control tools and metrics to identify defects and propose solutions.

• Plan, estimate, schedule, and conduct application testing in collaboration with Agile and IT teams.

• Organize, establish, and manage testing deliverables.

• Document and implement complex software test plans and strategies.

• Ensure traceability of test cases to project requirements.

• Execute end-to-end test scenarios and coordinate user-acceptance testing plans.

• Report and address complex issues in conjunction with Agile and IT teams.

• Validate that software applications fulfill functional requirements.

• Conduct functional, system, regression, load, performance, integration, and manual testing as necessary.

• Collaborate effectively with Software Test Engineers and Developers.

• Record and communicate testing metrics.

• Adhere to and update test documentation standards.

• Perform additional job-related duties as required or apparent.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of software testing experience with a focus on test automation for web, mobile, database, or web services.

• Familiarity with software automation testing methodologies, including regression, functional, unit, integration, coverage, performance, and load testing.

• Experience in testing applications that integrate with other systems via RESTful APIs.

• Proficient with test management tools like qTest, ALM, TFS, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of API testing frameworks such as Karate, Gatling, JMeter, or Postman.

• Some experience in load and performance testing.

• Understanding of cloud platforms and services, including Amazon AWS, Azure, Heroku, Perfecto Mobile, and SauceLabs.

• Experience in reviewing and providing constructive feedback during team pull requests.

• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture.

• Strong critical thinking abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Experience with tools such as Rally, Jira, TFS, or ServiceNow.

• Strong proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript, C#, TypeScript, or others.

• Advanced knowledge of open-source web frameworks such as Angular, Bootstrap, Node.js, and Express.

• Advanced understanding of web application testing tools like Selenium, Jasmine, Protractor, Cucumber, Appium, or Cypress.

• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Subversion.

• Must be available to work during Arizona business hours (Mountain Standard Time).
