Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance sustainable test automation frameworks for mobile, connected TV (CTV) platforms, and web applications.

• Lead the test automation strategy, encompassing automation best practices, framework design, page-object models, and test data management.

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD workflows utilizing GitHub Actions, Bitrise, and Jenkins.

• Facilitate continuous regression, deployment health checks, and release gating processes.

• Conduct testing for live and VOD video playback, client-side and server-side ad insertion, as well as quality-of-experience (QoE) scenarios.

• Test and troubleshoot API/microservice integrations to ensure data integrity, performance, and contract compliance.

• Validate privacy and consent workflows, including CMP functionality, preference persistence, DSAR-affected paths, and PII boundaries.

• Document and report bugs with clear reproduction steps, environment details, logs, and severity evaluations.

• Collaborate with engineering leads on triage, regression coverage, architecture evaluations, and quality metrics.

• Contribute to device lab strategies and address testing across various CTV platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of QA experience in consumer software, with at least 3 years of leading automation initiatives for multi-platform mobile and/or CTV products.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing automated test frameworks from the ground up for web, mobile, or CTV using contemporary tools such as Playwright, Appium, Detox, XCUITest, Espresso, or Robot Framework.

• Practical experience in constructing and maintaining automated CI/CD test pipelines.

• Experience in streaming video QA, encompassing playback, manifests, ad pods, DRM, and QoE.

• Familiarity with testing and automation on platforms like Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Tizen, or Vizio.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in bug investigation; capability to identify environmental, timing, and platform-specific issues.

• Excellent written communication skills; adept at crafting reproducible bug reports and concise automation documentation and test plans.

• Ability to lead technically in a self-directed manner within a remote, distributed engineering culture.

• Nice to have: experience in consent/privacy testing or compliance-driven regression suites.

• Nice to have: hands-on experience with AI tools like Cursor and Claude.

• Nice to have: experience in setting up physical or cloud-based device farms such as AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs, or HeadSpin.
